Oral Expression Games


OE 1: LET ME OUT OF HERE!

Purpose:

To provide practice in oral expression.

Materials:

Two common objects placed in separate closed boxes.

Paper and pencils.

Procedure:

Volunteer and child each choose a box and try to guess what is in the box without opening it. When each feels they have an answer, they tell a story in the first person pretending that they are the object captured in the box. Exchange stories and then open the boxes.



OE 2: TOUCH AND DESCRIBE

Purpose:

To provide for oral expression.

Materials:

Waxed paper, sandpaper, cotton, satin, corduroy, velvet, steel wool and anything else with a texture.

Procedure:

Have the child run their fingers over one item. Encourage them to describe the feeling using a variety of words. Proceed with remaining items.
